a significant spiritual Dreaming place for the Adjahdura people and has
an interesting history; It was mined and farmed for half a century by
white fellas; The rabbit calicivirus was
accidently released from the Island before testing was complete; The
waters around Waralte are trecherous, with stormy weather,
sharks and reef outcrops - many ships have come to grief and lives have
been lost.
